Heather,

Thanks for posting all this information. I've been wondering about investing in this since the prices have dropped a little. It's those darn 30 lbs I never took off after two kids and needing a push in the right direction.

Yes, I am still using it, I am still loving it. The information that I have learned from using it is something I plan on using for the rest of my life.
You should be able to get one for less than 250 now because they have come out with a smaller (more expensive) version so the older gray one should be dropping in price. I've also seen some new ones on e-bay, so you could try that.

It has been another month and I was wondering if you were still using/loving the bodybugg. I have been thinking about it, but wanted feedback before I make the $250 investment.

Thanks!

Frankly, I had not compared it to anything. I was meeting with a trainer purely out of a desperation to feel better. He showed me his bodybugg and the website and asked if I'd be interested in trying it. I told him I could see myself wearing it for a few days just to get an idea of my calorie expenditure but that was about all I was willing to do. After wearing it for one day I was hooked.
I like being able to see my calorie expenditure through the day. If I look at the bar chart for the day I can see a jump when I've been shopping or walking up my hilly backyard or when I'm vacuuming or on the treadmill. I didn't know how many calories it took to just exist. If I lay in bed and watch tv all day I burn 1000 calories. If I have a regular busy but not crazy day I'm burning close to 2000. If I work out it is closer to 2400. I just never really knew that.
The bodybugg helps you come up with a healthy eating plan. I can look at a chart after I enter what I have eaten and see that I need more protein or calcium or should cut back on fat for the rest of the day. It's like a cheat sheet.
It keeps track of my minutes of physical activity during the day - my goal is 1.5 hours and if I'm short a few minutes I'll run up and down the stairs or walk around the block or do some pushups and crunches.
My goal is 10,000 steps a day. If I don't make an effort, I don't hit that number so if I'm short I'll do something about it.
If you give an honest tally of the calories you eat every day and make sure that you burn more than you eat then it is impossible to not lose weight. It just makes the process so easy.
I don't even notice wearing it anymore. Only very rarely will someone ask about it.
After my initial 3 month subscription was up I signed on for another year. My goal was to not gain any weight from Halloween to New Year's. So far I have made that goal. Next week I start again full force to get more toned and get rid of the rest of the muffin top.
I hope that helps. Ask me whatever you like about it, I'll keep checking back.

I would love to hear a more in depth analysis. What do you love about the BodyBugg? Did you compare it to similar products before making the plunge? I would love to have one of these but I am not yet sure that it's worth the investment.
