Success! I am glad everything appears to be working out! I know you have thought long and hard about all of this, and it's great that you have been (and are continuing to be) so proactive and well-informed. Kudos to you!

What was the link between your abnormal cycle and thyroid issues? How did you learn you had thyroid issues?

I charted for nearly 3 years to avoid pregnancy - isn't it the coolest?!

It's crazy how your body tells you what's going on with it if you pay attention!

That's awesome! Sounds like things are definitely heading in the right direction.

I haven't been on the pill for a couple years now - I never really liked the idea of being on it in the first place but it was the best option for me to prevent pregnancy. Except I had horrible mood swings and my sex drive was totally diminished, so I stopped.

When I ovulate, I can actually FEEL it. It's a very localized pain, right where the ovary is, and of course it alternates left and right every month. Some women can feel it, others can't. Have you noticed any pain during ovulation?

I LOVE charting. I am currently pregnant, and I knew the first day I missed my period because of my charts. It wasn't exactly a PLANNED pregnancy...but I knew for sure I was pregnant right away! Best of luck to you when you start trying to conceive!

This is really cool! I suspect that your improved health & thyroid stabilization have given you picture-perfect cycles and now it'll be easy for you to conceive when you're ready. GOod luck!

I LOVE charting, and used that same book. We used that method during the long times when we weren't planning to get pregnant but it would have been okay if we did.

Yay! I used to chart too, it was fun. Until it got obsessive, of course. But you won't get to that point! You'll be knocked up in no time.

This was really intersting! Thanks for posting about charting cycles, always wondered how that worked. I'm in somewhat of a similar situation - was planning to start trying for a family when I was diagnosed w/hypothyroidism. . . I have tried to do some research (dr unhelpful) on pregnancy & hypothroidism but all I can find is stuff about undiagnosed hypothyrodism - have you ran across anything online? I found it amazing how long my body could be so out of whack before I even noticed anything suspicous.
